Testing body for general appraisal certificates (AbP)

Barrier glazing in accordance with DIN 18008-4

(Glass in building — Design and construction rules — Part 4: Additional requirements for barrier glazing)
We carry out the following building component tests in accordance with DIN 18008-4:
  • Pendulum impact tests in accordance with Appendix A: Determining the impact resistance of glazing in accordance with categories A, B and C
  • Analysing the impact resistance of the supporting structure in accordance with Appendix D: Determining the characteristic load-bearing force or characteristic extraction force of screw connections, clamp holders, point holders etc.
  • Edge protection tests in accordance with Appendix E: Determining the fitness for use of edge protection profiles
After completion of the test, we issue a general appraisal certificate (AbP).

Walk-on glazing in accordance with DIN 18008-5

(Glass in building — Design and construction rules — Part 5: Additional requirements for walk-on glazing)
We carry out the following building component tests in accordance with DIN 18008-5:
  • Building component tests for verifying the impact resistance in accordance with Appendix A: Determining the impact resistance of walk-on glazing (glass floors).
  • Analysing the residual load-bearing capacity in accordance with Appendix A: Determining the residual stability of walk-on glass panes in the event of glass breakage.
After completion of the test, we issue a general appraisal certificate (AbP).

Walk-on and barrier glazing in accordance with DIN18008-6

(Glass in building – Design and construction rules – Part 6: Additional Requirements for Glazing Accessible for Maintenance)
We carry out the following building component tests in accordance with DIN18008-6:
  • Impact resistance in accordance with Appendix A: Verification of the impact resistance of horizontal glazing (analysis of the accessibility and fall-through protection)
  • Residual load capacity in accordance with Appendix A: Verification of adequate residual stability of accessible overhead glazing or fall-through protection in case of glass breakage.
Since at present, walk-on glazing and glazing with fall-through protection covered by DIN18008-6, has not yet been incorporated in the model administrative regulations of technical provisions, a project-related approval (ZiE) or a project-related construction technique permit (vBG) must be obtained in each case.

Point holders/Glass holders in accordance with DIN 18008-3

(Glass in Building — Design and construction rules — Part 3: Point fixed glazing)
We carry out the following building component tests in accordance with DIN 18008-3 "Test specification for point holders":
  • Load-bearing capacity tests in accordance with Appendix D: Determining the normal force load-bearing capacity of point holders.
  • Determining the stiffness coefficients of point holders, preparation of load deformation curves.
After completion of the test, we issue a general building control test certificate.
